Another Monday night alone inside and I poured a drink again
And I'm afraid that I'm getting used to this
Well, I miss the way that I would complain about an old, crowded bar
Now what I wouldn't give to feel so torn
The humming of the Music Man and a kick turned up too loud
An open invitation to sing along
Well, I'm on my way to just celebrate all my friends, they play in the band
But everything is nothing like that now
Well, before I lie down I'll go walk around town, but it doesn't feel the same
I guess you could say it's how everything has changed
But how could that be when the places I see are the places that they've always been
Oh Lord, how I wish I could feel like I'm home again
The humming of the Music Man and a kick turned up too loud
An open invitation to sing along
Well, I'm on my way to just celebrate all my friends, they play in the band
But everything is nothing... like that now

In my lifetime a top three songwriter for me personally. Everything he did I absolutely loved from Backrow Baptists, Some Dark Holler to his two solo albums and stuff before and in between. He had the rare ability to write emotionally moving songs about life and have the painful aching vocal sound to make you believe his words. Absolutely tragic his life was cut short by a semi on the highway. He was starting to find his groove. Outlaw Americana Country at its best. He was/is the GOAT 🐐 Yimmy Kil
Nicolette Hoang's velvety vocals are the finishing touch on this pitch-perfect update on outlaw country with a touch of 60s glam. Bandcamp New & Notable Feb 27, 2024
